Flintlock Powder Keg Blues Band was formed in March 1981, with original line up Mick, Gary, Dave and Clay. In the 80’s they toured with the “boogie giants” Canned Heat in 1982, 1983 and 1984. Mick Harris, lead singer and blues harp player also appeared as a guest with Canned Heat, Charlie Musselwhite, Mal Eastic, Chain, and The Radiators to name a few.
The band went through a line up change in 1985 teaming with bass player Ian Crabbe from the Melbourne band Blues Raiders along with other new arrivals Eddy Shinks, Owen Richards and Laurie de Friend. In 1986 the new line up hit the road as Flintlock Blues Raiders releasing a single with a video clip of the A side: 309 Boogie, an original song written by Mick Harris and Owen Richards. The video clip was aired on Rage and other music video shows nationally and in America as well as featuring in Juke Boxes throughout Australia.
In 1996 the band lineup changed and went back on the road again as Flintlock.
In 2004 the band reformed with its original members - Mick Harris singer and blues harp player and Gary Kohrmann bass player along with lead guitarist Owen Richards. Recently Colin Perkett joined the band, taking the place of Charlie on drums.
